Speaker Bio
Dimitris Terzis was born and raised in the Municipality of Gortynia, Arcadia. He holds a PhD in Computer
Science (UCL) from the University of Patras with a specialization in Internet, Cloud Computing, Big Data and
Dual-Use Technologies, with an emphasis on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. He also holds 3 Master's
degrees in Political Science from the University of London (LSE, King's College, City) and many years of work
experience in Strategy, Communication, Social Research, International Relations and Defence.
In the period 1996-2007 he worked in Britain as a Computer Engineer, as a Business Consultant and as an Ass.
Professor of Computer Science at English Universities. In 2003-2004 he served his military service and
voluntarily participated in the preparation of the Athens Olympic Games. He then took on positions of
responsibility in technology companies and public organizations, in Greece and the UK. Since 2010 he has
been working as a Principal Software Engineer and Senior Manager with startups and multinational companies
in Silicon Valley, USA, where he lived until 2023, with a gradual return to Greece since then.
During his 25-year stay abroad, among other things, he has been elected head or member of the
administration in organizations of the Diaspora and international political organizations, with broad
consensus. He has been an active citizen since his school years.
