Prior to joining Naftogaz in 2025, Maksym served nearly 20 years in Ukraine’s diplomatic service. He held long-term diplomatic postings in London and Berlin. In Germany, Maksym served as Deputy Ambassador of Ukraine (2019-2024), where he was responsible for political affairs and defence cooperation.
From 2024 to 2025, Maksym was Head of NATO Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
He is a graduate of the London School of Economics (Economics) and Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (International Relations).
His expertise covers foreign and security policies, as well as defence and energy cooperation.
