Pierre PIMPIE is a French Member of the European Parliament, elected in 2024. Born on 10 September 1971, he is a French national and a senior civil servant by background. In the European Parliament, he serves on the Committee on
Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON), acts as coordinator for the Patriots for Europe group within the Subcommittee on Tax Matters (FISC), and is a substitute member of the Committee on International Trade (INTA).
Before entering the European Parliament, Mr. PIMPIE pursued a long career in the French civil service. A graduate of the National School of Administration (ENA, 2013) and of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po, 1994), he joined the corps of French civil administrators in 2013 and was promoted to the rank of senior civil administrator (highest rank) in 2019.
During his career, he held several senior positions within the French administration, notably at the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Ecology. He also served at the General Delegation for Employment and Vocational Training and later at the French Railway Safety Authority where he was successively Chief of Staff to the Director General, Acting Director General and Deputy Director General until 2024.
In the European Parliament, Mr. PIMPIE focuses on economic governance, taxation and financial regulation, in particular within the work of the Subcommittee on Tax Matters.
Mr. PIMPIE is also the author of several books, including the essay Vains combats (2012), the novel Tahiti à Paris (2015), and the essay Au 8e Jour (2017).
