As Group Chief Operating Officer, Executive General Manager, and member of the Executive Committee at Piraeus, Harry Margaritis leads the bank’s pursuit of operational excellence across a broad spectrum of functions, including IT, Data & Analytics, Digital Banking, Operations, and support functions. Harry is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences through innovative, automated technologies and streamlined operations. Under his leadership, teams continuously improve service quality, focusing on practical solutions that enhance efficiency and performance. A recognized thought leader in Artificial Intelligence, Digital Banking, IT Strategy, Cloud, Enterprise Architecture, and Software Engineering, Harry has successfully delivered hundreds of large-scale projects across diverse banking domains. In his previous role as Group Chief Information and Digital Officer at Piraeus, Harry led the IT organization and Digital Banking division, driving the bank’s comprehensive digital transformation. During his tenure as CIO at Commercial Bank of Dubai, he spearheaded a major digital transformation, which resulted in doubling the customer base and achieving a sustainable two-fold increase in profit. As Head of Group IT Architecture at Eurobank, he established a robust blueprint architecture for the Group’s international subsidiaries across eight countries, managing a global team of architects and technology professionals. A published researcher in Information Security, Harry holds an MSc in Communication Networks and a BSc in Physics. He remains deeply committed to driving innovation and digital transformation in the financial services industry, continuously seeking opportunities to contribute expertise and leadership.
