Born in 1973 in Klek, Serbia, Dejan Bodiroga is a Serbian basketball executive and former professional player widely regarded as one of the greatest European players of his generation. Over a distinguished career spanning from 1990 to 2007, Bodiroga competed at the highest level across the former Yugoslavia, Italy, Spain and Greece, establishing himself as one of the continent's most iconic figures in the sport. During that time, he claimed three EuroLeague titles (2000, 2002 and 2003) and two World Cup gold medals (1998 and 2002), while accumulating numerous MVP awards and individual honors that cemented his legendary status. Following his retirement in 2007, Bodiroga transitioned seamlessly into basketball administration, taking on the role of General Manager at Virtus Roma – the club where he had played out his final years as a professional – and developing his executive career there until 2009. In 2011, he returned to Serbia to serve as Vice President of the Serbian Basketball Federation, a role he fulfilled until 2015. He subsequently served as President of the Competition Commission of FIBA Europe. In 2022, Bodiroga was appointed President of Euroleague Basketball. Drawing on his unparalleled experience as both a player and administrator, he has focused on raising the overall quality of the competition and strengthening relationships with clubs, players, fans, partners and the wider basketball community.
