Born in 1962 in Wiesbaden, Germany, started working as a Journalist while studying Social Anthropology e.a. in Mainz. Entered ZDF/German public television in 1986. Editor/producer for performing arts/culture programs, Head of PR for 3sat in the 90ies, founder of digital theater channel at ZDF, head of theatre and music department for 3sat an ARTE in 1999. Founding director of the Theatre-academy Baden Württemberg in 2008. Since 2011 he is Coordinator for the European Cultural channel ARTE at ZDF and CEO of ARTE-Germany. Bergmann created many Tv and Online formats and has a long-term experiance in international coproduction and management in European public media and is an expert for intercultural media events.
