Speaker Bio

Paul Taylor is a senior visiting fellow at the European Policy Centre, specialised in European security and defence, and a freelance columnist for The Guardian. He was a foreign correspondent and editor for Reuters for 39 years in Europe and the Middle East (1977-2016), wrote a column for the International New York Times (2008-2016) and for POLITICO (2016-2023). A dual UK-French national, his hobbies are jazz and cooking.
