Speaker Bio

Nikos Myrtakis holds a joint Ph.D. in Computer Science from CY Paris University and the University of Crete, where his research focused on enabling AI systems to reason about data quality and autonomously improve it. He also earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from the University of Crete. He is currently an Applied Scientist at Synaptically, following research positions at Honda Research Institute Europe and SAP Paris.
His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed conferences and journals, including SIGKDD, VLDB Journal, ICML, and ICDE, and has been recognized with a Best Paper Award at the French National Conference on Data Management. In addition, he has been distinguished as an Outstanding Reviewer by SIGKDD, reflecting his contributions to maintaining high standards of scholarly excellence.
His research interests lie in developing principled, automated methods that enhance how AI systems assess, reason about, and ultimately improve the quality of the data they consume.
