Speaker Bio

Professor of Economic Demography at Harokopio University of Athens, Senior expert in population and demographic analysis with more than 25 years of experience at the interface of evidence, policy design and institutional governance. She has extensive involvement in European and national policy processes, including participation in EU-level committees and collaboration with national and European statistical authorities. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a DEA in Economic Demography and a PhD in Economic Demography from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. She has received an ICF scholarship for postgraduate and doctoral studies abroad and a Fulbright Award for Visiting Scholars (2013-14). Recently, she held senior responsibility for the analytical design of national demographic policy frameworks and for policy-oriented initiatives aimed at strengthening population awareness and long-term demographic sustainability. Recognised for translating complex demographic evidence into credible, non-partisan policy options while safeguarding methodological integrity, transparency and professional independence.
