Speaker Bio

Dimitris began his career in the London Insurance Market in 1998 at Windsor Professional Indemnity. During 2002 Dimitris moved to BMS International and launched the BMS office in Athens (2003). In September 2006 he led the successful Management Buy Out of the BMS Hellas office from the BMS Group, which was rebranded as the MATRIX Insurance Group. Matrix expanded its activities in over 20 countries with offices in London, Johannesburg, Istanbul, etc.
During 2019 he completed the acquisition of Piraeus Bank Insurance Brokers SA, through a strategic alliance with the Howden Broking Group, which in 2020 became the majority shareholder of the Matrix Group and rebranded to Howden Hellas & Cyprus. Howden today is the only consolidator in Greece and Cyprus and Dimitris has concluded in excess of 20 major acquisitions of insurance intermediaries, placing the company as the largest Insurance broker in the territory.
Dimitris holds an MBA in Maritime Management from the University of Leicester and a Bachelors’ of Science in Insurance and Investment from the City Business School, where he also was a member of the Advisory Board for the undergraduate programs in Finance, Investment & Insurance.
