Speaker Bio

Triantafyllos Karatrantos holds a PhD in European Security and Emerging Threats from the University of the Aegean. He is a Research Fellow on security, foreign policy, and emerging threats at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). He teaches the course “New and Asymmetric Threats: Technology and Security” in the MSc Programme in Global Governance and Security at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2024, he has been a member of the Coordination Committee for Cybersecurity Issues. Since 2023, he has served as the national representative and a member of the Steering Committee of the OECD High Level Risk Forum, focusing on emerging critical risks, the resilience of critical infrastructures, and foresight methodologies. Since November 2024, he has been a member of the High-Level Expert Group of the EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation of the European Commission, and in February 2026 he was elected Chair of the group. He also serves as Security and Crisis Management Policy Advisor to the Minister of State responsible for the coordination of Government Work, and as Special Scientific Advisor to the Minister for Citizen Protection.
