Speaker Bio

Brigham McCown is a senior fellow and director of the Initiative on American Energy Security at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., where his work focuses on energy security, strategic infrastructure, and the geopolitical implications of energy policy. He also serves as an independent director and advisor to global infrastructure companies. A former chief executive officer of a major U.S. energy infrastructure company, he led operations of one of North America’s most critical energy transportation systems. Earlier he served as acting administrator of the federal government’s energy transportation safety agency. McCown has advised multiple U.S. administrations on national security and infrastructure policy and regularly briefs senior government leaders and international policymakers. A retired U.S. naval aviator, he holds a Juris Doctor, an MBA, and a degree in diplomacy and foreign affairs.
