Speaker Bio

Konstantinos Pouliakas is an Expert on skills and labour markets at Cedefop. He leads the Agency's Skills and Workplaces team, facilitating research projects on AI, digitalisation and skill mismatch in labour markets. His proudest achievement is the development of three waves of the European Skills and Jobs survey. Ηe recently designed Cedefop's AI skills survey and has co-developed the first European survey of teachers in vocational schools. He has been scientific advisor for the European Commission, ILO, World Economic Forum and the Greek government. He has extensive experience working at both academic institutions (University of Aberdeen, University of Cyprus, Universita Degli Studi Roma TRE) and policy organisations (Bank of Greece, HM Treasury, IMF). He is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen and IZA research fellow. He undertook his postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford (St. Antony's College) and completed the Scottish Doctoral Programme in Economics. He has published widely in peer-reviewed scientific journals of Economics (e.g. Economics of Innovation and New Technology, Oxford Review of Education, Economica, Journal of Economic Surveys, Research in Labor Economics, Education Economics, International Labour Review).
