Milena Apostolaki was born in Athens. She is the mother of a 20-year-old boy. She graduated from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has worked as an Attorney-at-Law and has specialized in international contracts and aviation law at one of the largest law firms in Washington DC. She was elected as a member of the Greek Parliament for the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) in the 2nd electoral district of Athens in 2000, 2004, 2007, 2009 and in the recent elections in 2023. From April 2000 to October 2001, she served as Deputy Minister of Development. From September 2010 to June 2011 she held the position of Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food. In 2012 she took the initiative and together with leading lawyers proceeded to establish the Family Law Society (FLS) the first scientific association in the country dealing with family law issues. From November 2021 to June 2023, she was the Director of the European Mediation and Arbitration Association (EADI). In the 2023 elections, she was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Northern Sector of Athens with Panhellenic Socialist Movement- Kinima Allagis (PASOK-Kinima Allagis). She is responsible for financial issues (Banks, Private Debt). She participates in the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, the Standing Committee on Social Affairs, and the Committee on Public Enterprises, Banks, Public Utility Organizations, and Social Security Agencies. She has published two books and many of her articles have been published in the print and electronic press.
