Speaker Bio

Júlia López Ventura has 20 years of experience working with cities on the fields of innovation, sustainability and climate city diplomacy. She is the Regional Director for Europe at C40 Cities since 2015. Prior to that, she worked for 10 years for the city of Barcelona, her hometown. She is talented in managing relationships of trust and collaboration with local level governments and international organizations, an experience team manager, effective communicator and public speaker. In her job, Júlia supports top political decision makers develop science-based programs to fight climate change and making the case for the role of European cities in the climate change fight globally. She firmly believes in social return and has been dedicating time to teach on the topics of the climate crisis and city diplomacy in prestigious universities worldwide.
