Speaker Bio

John Oredo is a Senior Lecturer in Library and Information Science and Management Science at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and a Visiting Fellow at Northumbria University (UK). His work sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, education, and institutional governance, with a particular focus on how AI is being introduced within universities in Global South contexts. He has led and contributed to international research and capacity-building initiatives on AI ethics, data science, and digital transformation in higher education, and has published widely on organizational adoption of emerging technologies. Dr. Oredo advises universities and public institutions on responsible AI use, digital strategy, and AI-enabled academic administration, and serves on editorial boards of leading information systems journals.
