Christos Megalou, since April 2017, has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Board Member of the Board of Directors of Piraeus SA.
Since 2022, he is Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Snappi S.A.
From 2013 to 2015, he served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eurobank Ergasias SA.
Mr. Megalou held senior positions at Credit Suisse Investment Banking in London, UK, for over 16 years.
He was elected for two consecutive terms as Chairman of the Hellenic Bankers Association in the UK (2010-2013) and as Deputy Chairman of the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce (1993-1997).
Since 2016, he has been a Distinguished Fellow of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils (GFCC). He is a member of the Hellenic Observatory Advisory Board at the LSE Centre for Research on Contemporary Greece and Cyprus.
Since November 2025, he has served as Vice Chairman of the Hellenic Bank Association in Greece.
Christos Megalou graduated with a BSc in Economics from the University of Athens in 1981 and holds an MBA in finance from Aston University in Birmingham, UK, in 1982.
In 2025, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate (Doctor Honoris Causa) by the University of Piraeus.
